TRIESTECosmopolitan town par excellence, a melting pot of peoples and ethnic groups (Italians,Austrians, Germans, Slovenians, Croats, Serbs,Magyars), Trieste is home to many intellectuals and professionals and is crossed by an overwhelming cultural and artistic vein. The sights include numerous examples of Art Nouveau and neoclassical architecture, inheritance of the Habsburg Empire, the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), the International School for Advanced Studies(ISAS) and the University of Trieste. Unification of Italy Square is incredibly charming, with its beautiful historic cafes, which offer a step back in time, with their stucco, carved woods, mirrors, lace, porcelain, processed glasses, like the Mirrors Café (1839) where you can also eat, the Tergesteo Café (1863) between the square and the Verdi Theater, the Tommaseo Café (1830) next to the square and with sea view.Today the town is
undergoing social and economic revival, and in addition to the culture has to offer a beautiful sea in one of the most beautiful bays in the world: the rocks on the sea, cliffs, creeks, the San Giusto castles, Miramare and Duino castles. Trieste is a caressing town, which is also ideal for the beach, vacations and fun.The two faces of the restyling process expresses all the dynamism that the town of Trieste is living in this historic moment, while it is looking for a new identity between the desire to recover its historical roots and that for modernity. A history overlooking the sea, a bridge between civilizations and different cultures, a goal for the summer and every season of our lives. |
